Meng Wei: Thank you for your question. Everyone is very concerned about the price of pork. Just now, when I introduced the price operation, I also mentioned that the recent rise in pork prices is a very important factor affecting the expansion of CPI growth. Pork prices are related to people's livelihood. In accordance with the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, together with relevant departments, has actively carried out the work of ensuring supply and price stability in the pork market, and has issued and implemented a series of policy measures. In the next step, we will further implement policies and measures, and take multiple measures to ensure that the market is basically stable and the basic lives of people in need will not be affected. There are mainly several aspects of work.
First, continue to increase efforts to promote pig production. The national development and Reform Commission, together with the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas, will increase investment support within the central budget, support the construction of large-scale pig farms and pig breeding farms, expand the implementation scope of livestock and poultry manure resource utilization projects, support the construction of animal and plant protection capacity improvement projects, and promote the stable production and supply of live pigs through these support.
The second is to increase meat supply through multiple channels. Increase the production and supply of beef, mutton, poultry, and eggs, and expand the import of substitutes such as pork, beef and mutton through multiple channels to ensure that the overall meat protein market is basically sufficient.
Third, the proper implementation of frozen pork reserves. At present, the central and local governments have established a certain scale of frozen pork reserves, which will be put on the market at the right time to ensure pork consumption demand.
The fourth is to cover the basic people's livelihood. Focus on urban and rural subsistence allowances, extremely poor people and other people in need, and guide local governments to promptly activate the price subsidy linkage mechanism based on rising prices, and issue temporary price subsidies in full.
Fifth, close monitoring of forecast price changes. Monitor pork prices across the country and around the country every day, study and judge the trend in the later period, find signs of problems in time, and prevent and solve them.
In addition, it will also cooperate with relevant departments to increase market supervision and maintain a good market order.
